CALL 208-989-9876Cedar is the most popular wood fence material in the Boise area for good reason. Western Red Cedar is a naturally durable wood fence that matches up perfectly for the Idaho climate.
Red cedar is lightweight and possesses high weather resistance plus decay properties.
90 % of the cedar pickets we use are kiln-dried 1 inch to 7/8 inch thick, a premium #2 grade-board. You will get minimal warping or shrinking of any cedar picket available on the market.
Cedar fence boards look great the day they go up and will continue to look great long after we are gone.

It performs great and wood costs price per ft similar to vinyl, another low maintenance material like composite.
Wood fencing is also highly customizable when it comes to design. Vertical, horizontal, total privacy, semi-privacy, simplistic, decorative or anything you might desire.
Cedar fences are also more easily repairable as damaged boards and timber can be replaced individually.
Premium pickets with 2 3/8 inch round galvanized posts set in concrete make for the strongest cedar fence. If you are spending the money on a new fence choose metal posts.
Typically steel posts only slightly raise the cost per linear foot on a new fence. With metal posts you will not have to worry about posts rotting off in the ground, versus wood posts will start to fail within 10 years.
Cedar fencing is lightweight and possesses high weather resistance and decay properties. It is less susceptible to moisture, fungi growth and insect infestation.
Cedar can withstand long periods of baking sun, heavy rain, snow, hail and strong winds.
Cedar fence has naturally stunning wood with deep, tonal properties that accentuate the richly textured wood grains and exposed heartwood. When new it contains a light colored hue with a tinge of red, gradually turning to gray as it ages over the years.
If you prefer to avoid the “graying”, cedar is porous and resin free so it holds a variety of finishes from clear sealers to rich darker stains.
Yes. UpTight Fencing will work with Idaho Power to have all utilities located before building. This includes gas, power, electrical, telephone and cable. This service will take place 1 day – 2 weeks prior to fence construction.
No. Idaho Power does not mark private lines. This includes sprinkler lines, pool lines, french drains etc. The customer is responsible for marking any private lines that may be in close proximity to the fence construction. Damage to these lines is not the responsibility of UpTight Fencing.
Crews typically arrive between 7:30 and 9:30 am. We do ask that you are present the first morning to go over any contract and job details with the foreman. We also ask that all fence gates be left unlocked to allow our crews access.
While digging post holes at least 24″ deep, we can incur hard digging conditions. While very rare, if we do come across these conditions we may charge up to $100 per hard digging hole for extra time and labor.
When your job is completed we do prefer for you to walk the fence line with either the foreman or project manager to inspect and approve the work.
